  • Sweet, Sensitive, Brilliant.

Alice has a staggering number of gifts: she is a compelling storyteller, an astute analyst, a compassionate interviewer, an immersive documentarian. More than this though, she possesses the unique gift of being Alice: one of the kindest and most charming people you will ever get to know through the media of your headphones or car stereo. If you want a first class companion through the Australian bush of poetry, you cannot possibly do any better than Poetry Says.

  • Have a Captain Cook

Alice Allan is by far the most genuinely kind podcast host I have heard. She also happens to have one of the only poetry podcasts worth listening to every week. You’ll love both her excellent, in-depth interviews and her more personal, experimental, musing episodes.

If there existed such a genre as ASMR poetry criticism, Alice Allan would be its reigning queen. Poetry Says is soothing, stimulating, and an all-around pleasure to listen to.

  • Lovely, personal, enlightening

The way Alice tackles poem readings is so interesting and her style is really personal and not academic or dry at all. The interviews she has are really interesting, it's fascinating hearing poets talk about the poems they love! Would recommend to anyone even if (like me) they're not a "poetry person".

  • Love it - a refreshing take on poetry

Alice has a lovely relaxing voice, a great interview style and gets great guests! She makes poetry really approachable but still gets to in-depth interpretations that change the way I look at poems.
