  • Short, precise and vivid presentation

Hi guys, this is a tremendously good podcast. Through my daily work in internal medicine I am fairly good attached to the rheumatoligal field. Anyone who is interested in medical topics will get a very good basic overview in a vivid and inventive mode of presentation

  • Good content but poor audio

Some great clinical knowledge being communicated. However, the host’s mic is very quiet (ie I am almost maxed in volume to hear him). Please consider improving sound quality 🙏🏼

Strength Training for Healthy Aging: Insights from Andreas Delaere
Q: What are three changes physios can make this week to improve results with older adults?
Ask patients what they want to be able to do in the next five to ten years; start with small, achievable building blocks; and measure hand grip strength as a simple, informative progress marker to boost motivation.
Strength Training for Healthy Aging: Insights from Andreas Delaere
Q: How do you balance safety with power training for older adults?
Begin with slowly and controlled contractions to build maximal strength, then introduce fast, explosive movements in a structured block approach, ensuring technique is mastered and fatigue is managed with longer rest and velocity-guided cues.
Strength Training for Healthy Aging: Insights from Andreas Delaere
Q: What are the most common mistakes physios make when trying to build muscle in older adults?
Common mistakes include avoiding training to fatigue, using too many different exercises at once, and not progressing load or intensity over time. Start with basic patterns (squat, hip hinge, pushes/pulls), ensure technique, and gradually increase intensity and volume based on patient response.
Patellar Tendinopathy with Ebonie Rio
Q: How do you explain patellar tendinopathy in simple terms to an athlete?
Explain it as an overload condition where there is a specific load that the tendon can handle; when load exceeds capacity, symptoms appear. Use a spring analogy and emphasize the load–capacity relationship to help athletes understand.
Conquering Burnout: Strategies for Physiotherapists with WriteUpp
Q: If a physiotherapist feels burned out right now, what would be one realistic change they could make in the next few weeks?
They should take a step back to identify where their energy is leaking the most, set clear boundaries, and consider implementing a practice management software to streamline processes.
