  • Great podcast, bad volume levels

Great info and topics. Like most podcasts the volume levels are very inconsistent. The host and the guest are at different levels and it is very hard to listen when I can't set my volume and let it.

  • Thank you

Just wanted to write a quick brief review, being from Annville Pa I throughly enjoy all your content on the idea of “PA hunting”. I think so many people focus on mid west whitetail hunting that some thought gets lost for big woods Pa. When having guests on the show you seem to always ask questions that I would ask so in turn that’s very helpful! Just enjoy the podcast, thanks for your hard work, keep it up!

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Simplifying Deer Hunting: Efficiency Over Complexity
Q: What advice would you give to a hunter who is balancing family, work, and hunting time, especially when media and gear options feel overwhelming?
The guidance centers on building a support system, planning ahead with a realistic schedule, prioritizing time with family, and simplifying gear and tactics to focus on what truly matters in their local area, rather than chasing external pressures or trends.
Simplifying Deer Hunting: Efficiency Over Complexity
Q: You've talked about this idea that the basics matter most. What are the three core elements you rely on to stay efficient when time is short?
Tom describes habitat, access, and actual deer sign as the core three, arguing that reliable sign and easy, low-conflict access often trump chasing distant, highly engineered spots or chasing every new gadget.
Simplifying Deer Hunting: Efficiency Over Complexity
Q: So my question to you, Tom, is when you think about preparing on limited time, give me 3 things that truly matter to you that you feel are going to give you the most weight this year.
Tom emphasizes habitat basics (clear cuts and productive cover), access and the ability to reach spots without heavy pressure, and clear deer sign as the three priorities that maximize chances with limited time, along with leveraging doe presence as a reliable indicator for potential encounters.
The Sacrifices Behind Pursuing Your Dreams
Q: What does success look like in the outdoors for you today?
Success is primarily about happiness and having fun; quality time in the woods and the shared experiences with friends, rather than harvesting or collecting trophies.
The Sacrifices Behind Pursuing Your Dreams
Q: How long was your hunting outdoors hiatus as you pursued comedy?
Collin explains the hiatus lasted about 15 years, with a slow down beginning in college as he pursued stand-up, followed by returning to outdoor life later and rebuilding his connection.
