作家聶華苓一生從中國大陸流離到台灣，再漂泊到美國，文學創作始終不輟，更致力於國際文學交流，曾被提名諾貝爾和平獎候選人。她在2004年完成《三生三世》自傳，她形容自己，根在大陸，幹在台灣，枝葉在美國，近來將此書擴大篇幅為《三輩子》一書，除了內容的增多，並加上數百張珍貴照片，讀者閱讀後更能見到大時代的縮影。

曾獲台北文學獎、林榮三文學獎、鍾肇政文學獎的洪愛珠，倫敦藝術大學傳播學院畢，資深平面設計，大學兼任講師，工餘從事寫作，以記舊時日家常吃食與經過之人。
洪愛珠本業平面設計，五、六年前母親病重，陪病時光漫長折騰，為探尋出口，才碰上寫作。她的第一本作品《老派少女購物路線》寫飲食、居家、人間煙火氣息，用感情、記憶、思念調味。這本書，寫了陪病的歷程，也寫了洪愛珠個人的飲食懷舊之旅。

《箭藝與禪心》的作者奧根‧海瑞格（Eugen Herrigel，1884─1955）是德國籍哲學教授，著迷於東方禪學，曾遠渡重洋到日本東北帝國大學任教。
