This a great podcast and lots of fun to listen to after every episode of The Rings of Power. It’s too bad they’re rated explicit for infrequent use of some real bad language I wish they wouldn’t use, but as a super fan of the Jackson movies, I can look past that.
If you’re looking for a nice side piece to the Rings of Power, this companion podcast is where it’s at. Brian, Jake, Billy and Joe do a fantastic job breaking down the lore, details, plot, and characters of each episode in a fun and engaging way. They lay out a lot of theories of who’s who and what’s what, doing the leg work for us folks who haven’t read Tolkien in a while. Highly recommend giving them a shot. Also, check out their main podcast @ Pop Culture Leftovers if you haven’t!
Brian, Jake, Billy, and Joe do a wonderful job of reviewing each episode of the Amazon Rings of Power show, going into detail on all plot points and diving into theories and predictions as to where they believe the show is headed. What’s great is that they are not Tolkien nerds who nitpick the show and complain about differences with literature. They are knowledgeable about Tolkien’s work, and constructively make comparisons between the show and the source material. I would highly recommend this... more
Best Lord of the Rings podcast around. Very well researched and insightful. I love the speculation about what might be next.
Brian, Jake, Joe, and Billy bring so much knowledge and love for Tolkien’s canon to this recap show it is a must listen companion with The Rings of Power. Personally, I know essentially nothing of JRRT’s work so without these episodes I’d be lost to the lore and that knowledge really does enhance my experience of the show. The best out there when it comes to using the canon to deepen the experience of the show - highlighting the changes and delving into the mysteries and never “well, actually”-i... more
Awesome group of guys talking about a fantastic show!!! Uh yes please 😀
Excellent deep-dive look into each episode of LOTR: TROP. The wealth of knowledge everyone brings to the table is impressive, and you can count on every moment of an episode to be explained in great detail based on Tolkein's works. The predictions and speculations are brilliant too. Everyone backs up their theories for the show with references and history. Whether you're a die-hard Tolkein fan, or new to Middle-Earth, PCLOTR is a brilliant listen.
I have been looking forward to Rings of Power since it was announced. After watching the first episode and seeing that my favorite podcasters were going to be doing a deep dive analysis of each episode, I was thrilled. Listening to the breakdowns & theories after watching the episodes has definitely enhanced the experience of the series for me. All of the hosts have a great understanding and appreciation of the Tolkien lore. PCL (Brian & Jake’s other podcast) has fantastic breakdowns across othe... more
A deep dive podcast on each episode of Amazon’s The Rings of Power series. Being a huge fan of their original podcast Pop Culture Leftovers, I was thrilled when they announced they were going to tackle this! Everyone goes above and beyond exploring theories & deeper meanings into certain plot points of each episode. It’s very interesting to hear what they have to say & I find it to be extremely helpful in my understanding of the show not being super knowledgeable of all things Tolkien. It’s the ... more
These guys have extensive knowledge of the source material, genuine enthusiasm and rationale behind their opinions and criticisms, and a presentation style that goes down smooth. Added benefit is exposure to the host’s individual podcasts/projects. These guys put in work worthy of a listen
Long time fan of the Pop Culture Leftovers podcast and even longer time fan of Tolkien mythology. This is the PERFECT show to explore deeper meanings, theories, ideas, and conversations around the Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power show. You won’t go wrong with this crew and will find yourself laughing often and maybe actually learning something you didn’t know about Tolkien lore.
Saw Billy Blinks promote this on socials and everyone on the show is knowledgeable of the show and content along with bringing the humor. If you are a LOTR fan or are new to the franchise, these guys are great to help you stay informed with the show, worth the listen and sub
Originally here from pop culture leftovers. This is a great review podcast and the hosts really know there stuff.
I always appreciate the insight Billy brings to any podcast. This was a show I was iffy about but I look forward to watching along with the crew. Keep the episodes coming
I’ve hear these guys on other media streams and have always wanted to pick their brains about TLOR. I’m finally going to be able to hear their perspectives. A must listen podcast
