Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The High Cost of Youth Sports: Pressure, Branding & Burnout with Jeremy Alland, MD
Q: When did you decide to go online and share this perspective about youth sports?
It was a gradual transition starting in 2025; the motivation grew from recognizing a widespread concern and the unusual scarcity of others speaking up about it, plus the drive to use social media to educate beyond clinical settings.
Disabled Kids Are Not Content: Advocacy, Privacy & Consent Online with Sarah Todd Hammer
Q: What are your views on parents sharing their disabled children's stories on the internet?
Sharing should protect the child's privacy, avoid intimate details, and many times can veer into exploitation; the focus should be on listening to disabled people and not using children for click-focused awareness.
Disabled Kids Are Not Content: Advocacy, Privacy & Consent Online with Sarah Todd Hammer
Q: What boundaries have you established to protect your privacy and safety while maintaining visibility?
I avoid sharing my location in bios, keep only a public contact email, and maintain a private secondary page; I block negativity and stalkerized behavior to protect my well-being.
Disabled Kids Are Not Content: Advocacy, Privacy & Consent Online with Sarah Todd Hammer
Q: Can you tell us how you got started with disability advocacy and what motivated you to share your story online?
I started advocating after my own spinal cord injury and collaborating with a friend to publish our disability stories; social media became a platform to share daily life and disability topics, which grew into a broader advocacy role.
Tradwife Influencers: The Performance of Motherhood (And Why It’s Hurting Women)
Q: What concerns do you have about the postpartum portrayal by some tradwife figures, and how does that relate to audience expectations?
Postpartum portrayals that sanitize labor and present an idealized, glossy narrative create unrealistic expectations for new mothers and can drive harm by reinforcing the notion that motherhood should be effortless. This is especially problematic when postpartum content is tied to brand and sales.
