Reviews

4.8 out of 5 stars from 1.3k ratings
  • Great show, volume a bit off

Loving these blokes so much and a great podcast, but have not been able to listen through the past couple of (regular) eps due to inconsistency with volume. I’m usually either listening with headphones or portable speakers, and lately some bits are very loud, while some are too quiet and kept having to change the volume. Still a 5* but please do something with the mics

  • Did they fire the producer?

A long-term listener (and ex-subscriber), but will post a low rating until they fix audio quality that is noticeably sliding down as of latest couple episodes. It is barely possible to hear the guest sometimes, at least without raising the volume and then getting deafened by one of the guys.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Pappy’s Flatshare ep 1611: Rob Copland “the un-hypnotisable man”
Q: Is hypnosis genuinely a thing, or is it more like guided meditation?
The guests discuss that hypnosis in practice felt more like a guided meditation and that the significant value came from the mental state and practices it encouraged rather than hypnotic trance itself.
Pappy’s Flatshare ep 1611: Rob Copland “the un-hypnotisable man”
Q: So anyway, as you were saying, you're trying to write an immature and you told us just before the podcast started that you're currently seeing a hypnotherapist. Do you think that's helping your material?
Copland explains that the hypnotherapist is helping with relaxation and a writing mantra rather than directly scripting jokes, and notes that he's used the process to access a different mental state for creativity.
Ep 1539: Steve Bugeja
Q: When is your special coming out?
Steve announced that it will be released at the end of October.
Ep 1522: Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown with Natalie Cassidy & Leah Davis - "Build the Bug Hotel"
Q: Do you want to road test a Lice to See You to See You?
Yeah, Lice to See You to See You.
Ep 1522: Pappy's Flatshare Slamdown with Natalie Cassidy & Leah Davis - "Build the Bug Hotel"
Q: What kind of a person are you to live with?
I'm generally incredibly passive-aggressive and a nightmare to live with.
