  • Great Guests; Good Questions

They have a good variety of guests and ask questions that are interesting and based off the context of the guests' answers. Keep going!!

At some point it might be worth learning how to record into a mic better to reduce "room tone".

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rob Pointon
Q: What went wrong the first time you tried to be a working artist, and what changed when you became successful a second time?
He left London thinking he was better than he was, underpriced his work, worked in a low-pay market, trained in graphic design, learned the commercial side, and then applied discipline from design to his painting to finally succeed.
Rob Pointon
Q: What did your grandmother paint?
She painted watercolors and trained with a local watercolourist, an environment that deeply influenced the guest's early exposure to art.
Rob Pointon
Q: Would you mind introducing yourself for the audience, please?
The guest introduces himself as Rob Pointon, a professional UK-based painter who has been living off sales of his artwork for nearly two decades.
Ingrid Christensen
Q: What was the big difference between teaching in 2009 and now?
She highlights that early on she lacked many skills and ideas, but through years of painting and teaching, online formats allowed delivering a large amount of content in depth over longer sessions, with ongoing student interaction and feedback.
Oluwatobi Adewumi
Q: What galleries might show your work, or where can people see it in person?
He mentions Von Lintel Gallery in Santa Monica/Los Angeles as the current representing gallery, with some works in their roster, and notes a possible future teaching position in Arkansas.
