  • I’ve Done the Work (March 19)

    Christine,

Your work has changed my life. I started a new journey late in my 50s and have struggled with feeling like I’ve made adequate progress. Thank you so much to you and your guest on the March 19th episode! I have had experiences similar to those your guest described and have really had difficulty accepting who I am and the positives that result from being a Ferrari. Your suggestions brought such clarity and were just what I needed to hear!

  • Too certain

I believe she means well, but she dictates what people should do which seems to be inconsistent with coaching and the basis of it, which is CBT. It is clear she comes into the situation with a certain perspective on the facts and then basically tells people what to do, which often seems driven by her own experience. I was hopeful but have not found it useful.

EP 541: Hiding in Plain Sight — How Fear of Criticism Is Keeping You from Being Fully You with Victoria

The protector part that fears being seen and judged, rooted in childhood criticism and the trauma of a sister who was heavily criticized, making Victoria fear the consequences of visibility.
EP 541: Hiding in Plain Sight — How Fear of Criticism Is Keeping You from Being Fully You with Victoria
Q: What do you want to step into?
Victoria wants to become a content creator focusing on beauty and dream-life coaching, showing women they can build their dream life at any age, while leading with courage and authenticity.
CC: Beyond Talk Therapy: How Psychedelics Are Unlocking Healing with Keith Kurlander
Q: What are the risks of psychedelics and who should consider them?
Psychedelics aren't right for everyone; certain conditions like active psychosis or unstable medical issues require caution, but with proper screening, clinician guidance, and integration, many people can benefit.
CC: Beyond Talk Therapy: How Psychedelics Are Unlocking Healing with Keith Kurlander
Q: Is talk therapy alone enough for very complex trauma, or is psychedelic-assisted therapy often needed?
Talk therapy alone is often insufficient for very complex trauma; combining therapy with somatic work or psychedelic-assisted sessions tends to be more effective, especially when the nervous system remains dysregulated.
CC: Beyond Talk Therapy: How Psychedelics Are Unlocking Healing with Keith Kurlander
Q: When did psychedelic therapy become more known as a tool for trauma, and how does it work to help someone get into the present moment?
Psychedelics help by expressing the nervous system's state and, in a non-ordinary state, allowing new associations and integration of traumatic memories; different medicines have different mechanisms, but a common outcome is increased flexibility and new perspectives that support processing trauma.
