  • Talks too much

She has guests on the shows but then talks over them. She talks wayyyyy too much. There’s interacting, but she’s overbearing.

  • Used to love …

I used to love this podcast. Mel and Kellie were great, relatable, raw and honest. I hate how much the ads interrupt listening and the are interrupting the middle of talking, not even the end of a topic. When Kellie left the vibe definitely changed and not for the better.

  • My saving grace

This pod cast has helped me through my entire journey after having weight loss surgery. Times when I felt lost and confused this podcast has helped me find the answers and sense of community I needed. Thank you OSLP. My opinion number 1 podcast for anyone who has had weight loss surgery or on a GLP-1 medicine.

From Dialysis to Weight Loss Surgery Success Interview w/ Heather Olsen
Q: How long did it take for you to find the new job and insurance that could cover the procedure?
She explains a multi-year process: a job search spanning several months in 2021, appeals with insurers, and ultimately finding a role that offered coverage for the procedure, which was crucial to moving forward with bariatric surgery post-transplant.
From Dialysis to Weight Loss Surgery Success Interview w/ Heather Olsen
Q: So tell everybody about yourself, like when did you get surgery? Why did you get surgery?
Heather recounts her kidney disease since childhood, including periods of dialysis and eventual kidney and liver transplant, and explains that weight loss surgery was pursued later as part of managing overall health after transplant, with emphasis on energy, mobility, and quality of life.
What Autoimmune Disease REALLY Does to Your Body! Interview w/Nikolett Demeter MD.
Q: What do you do first with autoimmune patients who are planning surgery or dealing with a chronic illness?
We start with a background check to understand underlying diseases, genetic factors, and how the condition might interact with surgery, then tailor nutrition, activity, and lifestyle guidance to strengthen resilience and improve outcomes.
This Bariatric Summer Camp Solves the Number One Weight Loss Problem w/Rob DiMedio
Q: What inspired you to make a camp like this?
Rob explains that he wanted to create a climate of structured support during the times of year when bariatric patients need it most, leveraging community input and a roster of professionals to provide evidence-based guidance.

Q: What is your general view on GLP-1 medications in combination with endoscopic therapies?
They are not competing with surgery or ESG but complement them; combination therapy offers the best potential outcomes by addressing different mechanisms of weight regulation.
