  • Funny, blunt, inspiring, interesting …

Jasmin and Mariann are my friends, my inspiring campaigning advocates and truth tellers. They have funny, inspiring and funny chats with each other and some incredible guests. They focus almost exclusively on animal rights which is such a refreshing angle in the vegan podcast world. They share their and my highs and lows, funny stories, outrage and anger at the latest news. Anxiety is Rising a pertinent and blunt examination of current events. This is my favourite podcast. • Hosts are awful

I love the guests. They’re so amazing and dong great things and I love hearing from them. The hosts are insufferable unfortunately they spend the first 30 minutes of each episode talking about uninteresting things from their weeks, talking down on the non-vegans they encountered that week, and just being unpleasant to each other. They also interrupt their guests too much. Just skip to the interview portions.

  • Plant Sentience

I find the hosts to feel really threatened by the idea of plant sentience since it would completely upend veganism. The nit-picking of an article about whether plants have intention seemed very clearly like the hosts felt threatened by the idea that if plants have intelligence and consciousness then it makes it more difficult to justify eating them. The hosts have such a narrow view of morality and simplistic view of it, it often makes the episodes unbearable and reflect exactly why many people ... more
