  • Excellent

Have only heard 4 of these episodes so far but I can tell these people are excellent. Super timely topics, great discussion style format, easy-to-understand explanations but not insulting the listener’s intelligence which is all-too-common in local news. Technical/sound quality top notch. Music sparingly used but powerful and appropriate sounds for the stories. As someone that follows current events podcasts, newscasts and newspapers, I was pleasantly surprised that a Milwaukee-based show is so ... more

Perfect podcast to listen to on my commute. We can get headlines anywhere these days, this podcast does a great job of going more in-depth with stories I am interested in. Also great to get to know the personalities behind the reporting.

  • Right to Know

Thank you for advocating for all of us! Your viewers (and now listeners!) love the fact that you have a passion for public records and finding the truth. This podcast is a great way to hear more about the process of investigating in journalism. In the age of “fake news”, transparency is so important as your investigative team gathers, obtains, and examines public records.

Would recommend this podcast to anyone who has an interest in the judicial process and the protection of free speech.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

E409: Ridglan Beagles Freed
Q: Is there a point where animal testing won't be needed at all due to new non-animal methods?
While non-animal models and NAMs are expanding, it is not yet at a stage where they can fully replace animal testing across all areas; biology is complex and requires a gradual integration where some areas may still rely on animal studies for safety and efficacy until NAMs mature.
E409: Ridglan Beagles Freed
Q: Can you tell us from your perspective how animals are used in the drug development process, and at what stage animals are involved?
Animals are used after initial in vitro testing to evaluate safety and efficacy in living systems, typically after thousands of candidate molecules are screened; only a small subset advances to animal testing, and only if they show promise for proceeding to human trials.
E406: The Bond of Brothers
Q: Do you envision there being an ASL broadcast for every professional sporting event?
The guests express that while there have been many firsts and significant traction with hockey, there is no fixed blueprint for ASL broadcasting in sports; the goal is to keep expanding access and convincing leagues to invest, with ongoing discussions and a vision for broader adoption.
E406: The Bond of Brothers
Q: Tell us about PXP, what you guys do.
PXP stands for play-by-play; the team focuses on inclusion, deaf representation, and interpreting access in sports, building a model that has expanded to multiple clubs and leagues and aims to increase fan engagement through ASL and broader accessibility.
E403: After the Boom
Q: You've mentioned this isn't just a Milwaukee problem but a national one. What are the three main drivers behind construction slowdowns?
The three main drivers are interest rates, labor availability, and material costs; all have risen and interact with project finance, causing delays or stall-outs in multiple markets including Milwaukee.
