The podcast strangely avoids the discussion of what real information costs. It’s almost a commercial.
It avoids the contribution of podcasts to the collapse of expensive reporting-based, factual media, and what the very real negative societal costs are when people can’t earn a living doing research in media.

Great episode. Thank you for illuminating the idea about whether AI is a going to be as consequential as the invention of the printing press. I appreciated the historical background you added with such periods as the Industrial Revolution and then the bureaucratic “revolution” where you conclude that AI will take its first bite out of.

I enjoy everything that Tooze does. His co-host on the other hand makes me crazy. Long meandering questions that I have to try to skip through. I came for the Tooze, not for the ones. Would have given this 5 stars if not for this.
Some discussions interesting - but you get the impression they enjoy criticising equally right-wing populists and social democracy. While laughing on the way to the bank, I guess - either way they’ll never ‘own’ anything, just enjoy the failings of others.
