Great hearing the gang back together after a brief hiatus. Loved hearing the deep dive of Godfather II, which I hadn’t seen all the way through until last night, despite having seen the original multiple times. Look forward to more episodes.
Side note: I had to turn my volume way up with AirPods, not sure if it was a tech issue on my end, but I’m curious if anyone had the same issue.
Series gets better, it would be great if some names and just general words were pronounced properly. Also Russell is part Māori.
Please bring Joseph Tsai back! He’s great.
I really enjoy this podcast which goes into the most granular, deep dive of one of the greatest movies ever made, but my God the sound is awful and inconsistent from episode to episode. Glass-half-full, film-nerd culture podcast that alternates between deep-dive discussions of individual films and broad conversations about production, adaptation, and history. Conversations frequently center on cinematic technique, era context, and the influence of specific works, often featuring guests who bring critical or industry perspective. A standout aspect is the blend of long-form, film-by-film analysis with lively banter, plus a strong emphasis on physical media releases and industry trends, making it useful for listeners who want both scholarly insight and practical media nerd culture takes.
