  • Best backpacking content now in a podcast!

I haven’t even listened to an episode yet and can say this is terrific. I’ve always enjoyed all things outdoors and I used Dixie’s YouTube as a source of information to start backpacking 6 years ago. Still sharing videos for people interested in backpacking trips or just learning how. So thankful and wishing this podcast the very best!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

MMA for Everyone & Taking On The UFC: Shane Mills
Q: What is the pathway you push fighters along from amateur to pro?
We start with basic boxing, Muay Thai, and Jiu-Jitsu, then have fighters compete in Jiu-Jitsu and amateur boxing to build experience, gradually preparing them for pro by exposing them to different styles, ensuring they are well-rounded and tested before turning pro.
You Can't Outrun (Or Out-hike) A Bad Diet: Dr. Ken Berry
Q: What inspired you to pursue a career in medicine and nutrition?
Dr. Berry describes a lifelong fascination with medicine sparked by early medical shows and a commitment to understanding how diet affects health, which later evolved into a focus on real-world, low-carb and carnivore approaches demonstrated through patient outcomes.
The Most Important Group Of Muscles: Dr Marcy Crouch, "The Down There Doc"
Q: What exactly does the pelvic floor do beyond supporting the bladder and uterus?
It stabilizes pressure in the core, aids continence, and plays a role in sexual function, with coordinated timing and engagement that affect daily activities and athletic tasks.
How Backpacking Changed My Life: Kelly Hays
Q: How did you end up going from growing up as Kelly Hays to becoming an AT creator and a traveling dietitian?
She explains a pivot from traditional clinical work toward travel-based contracting, hiking, and content creation, driven by a desire to share a broader life story and help others pursue their passions.
Meat And Salt - Shut Down By The Government, Now Stronger Than Ever: Mark Ritz
Q: How do you come up with ideas for new products beyond Carnivore Snax?
Ideas start with curiosity, but there's a method: focus on sustainable, whole-carcass utilization, test various cuts, and iterate to create new formats like meat sticks while keeping scalability and farmer relationships in mind.
