I read the reviews and was unsure whether to listen. I think they were listening to another show, because this one was very well presented and acted. There were multiple actors to dramatise the events and they all played their roles believably and well. A pivotal period in our collective world history, presented as a really good radio series. Listened to whole thing in one go while I was driving from Greymouth to Dunedin. Kept me interested the whole way. 100% recommend.
Loved the accents.
After getting midway through episode 1, I sampled two later episodes to see if this poorly constructed narrative would improve. Sadly it didn’t.
I found this far more engaging than the usual history doc. Terrible, terrible crimes and painful listening but done as a drama brought the whole tragedy of the German people to life.
