Initially I came in hot with criticism, but after listening to some of the new episodes I’ve decided to take it back. I’ve been enjoying the interviews, and the latest episode looking at underground Nu
Recently found this podcast and I thought I was glad I did. I’ve gotten to the ‘deep dives’ and it seems to have ended up where a lot of people end up (“when I was a kid I loved this, now I’m mature I hate it…” 🙄). Kinda sick of people making podcasts and talking about these genres when they don’t seem to actually like it anymore. There is only so much someone can listen to people complaining about their favourite bands and albums
I’m 32 years old now and Nu Metal was my life from age 10-14. Korn, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Coal Chamber, Soulfly, Kittie, SOAD were my idols.
Tim and Jay bring me back to that time. They deep dive into Nu Metal classics as well as more obscure releases from the era.
This podcast is from the point of view of two guys who love Metal and Hardcore but have respect for Nu Metal and recognize the absurdity of the phenomenon as well as the good (and bad) music that came of it.
Brings me back to the late 90s listening to this. Looking forward to more episodes!
Definitely check this show out if you're into all things Nu-Metal!

A podcast focused on brutal, extreme, and heavy genres, with deep dives into bands, albums, and eras that shaped nu metal, metalcore, and hardcore scenes. Episodes mix retrospective explorations of influential records, tournament-style debates, and live-show anecdotes, often featuring guests from the heavier end of the spectrum. Listeners get opinionated takes on classic releases, modern releases, and the culture surrounding heavy music, along with personal stories from concerts and touring life. The format favors enthusiastic hosts who blend nerdy knowledge with passionate, nostalgia-soaked storytelling, making it especially appealing to fans who want both context and candid opinions about bands, scenes, and the evolution of heavy music.
