  • Must listen for Board gamers

If you only listen to one board game podcast, this is the one. I listen to many to come to this conclusion.

  • Intelligent and honest board game discussion

Efka and Elaine always bring smart and grounded thoughts to the table and their integrity as reviewers are second to none (their commitment to reviewer independence goes well into the realm of the supererogatory to use a fancy word). Their earthy wit and charm shines in the unscripted format making their podcast even better than their excellent YouTube material.

  • Don’t believe them it’s full of puns!

Excellent podcast about boardgames. Even the adjacent stuff is interesting. The two hosts always have inspiring views on games and are very good at sharing them. I even watched a couple of their NPI videos even though I don’t like YouTube.

Panda Spin, Primates, Tycoon: India 1981
Q: What do you both think about gaming fatigue, and how do or did you deal with it?
It's relatable to experience gaming fatigue, and sometimes it's important to just take a break and do something else, like spending time outdoors.
Brink
Q: Why do you think they added that in just for thematic purposes?
To make it feel more medieval Japan.
Brink
Q: Have you noticed that board gaming seems to be a social situation where neurodivergent people can particularly thrive?
Anecdotally, yes, board gaming attracts more people with neurodivergence.
Rob Daviau Talks Legacy, Empire’s End, Ready Set Bet, Mind Space
Q: How did you end up designing Risk Legacy? Was there a specific idea that led to it?
It started as a joke about Clue and then evolved into a concept where actions in one game influence the next, inspired by video games and storytelling.
Rob Daviau Talks Legacy, Empire’s End, Ready Set Bet, Mind Space
Q: How would you explain the idea of legacy games to someone who knows nothing about board games?
I would compare it to a television series where actions in one game carry over to the next, creating a unique story for you and your group.
