Artwork for No Bad Ideas

The No Bad Ideas Podcast is the creation of Gabriel Urbina, Sarah Shachat, and Zach Valenti, three writer and artist-types who, in order to stay fresh creatively, have an excuse to hang out with each other once a week, and check in on what they're working on, take a terrible idea they found on the Internet each week and turn it into a compelling narrative. Or as close as they can get in 30 minutes... more

  • Look, it's just very fun to listen to and constantly upsetting that these ideas aren't actually in production.

  • Nothing I love more than a podcast with a totally random concept

There are many types of podcasts. They tell you about a topic. Rewatch podcasts. Audio fiction. And then there’s my favorite type, the “hey lets do this thing and also tape it.” No bad ideas is a beautiful example.

  • I was destined to leave this review today because this podcast is a 10/10

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started listening, but as I heard them spin that first episode’s bad idea into a developed story (that I wouldn’t be against paying to see/hear a production of), it only deepened my appreciation for Zach, Sarah, and Gabriel. Not only does this podcast fulfill my curiosity to peek into their minds as a Wolf 359 fan, but it leaves me laughing and also thoughtful about writing stories, and writing/creating in general. I support you guys so much, thank you for sha... more

  • Comforting and motivating

Love your stories they come up with. Always end up laughing. Love seeing the process of how they come up with (good) ideas. They also provide great advice, not just for writing for being a human being in general.

  • Funny & Endearing

Hooked even further with GATTACA and Dollhouse mention, my kind of people! 🤓

Another all-around great project from Zach, Sarah and Gabriel. From a non-writer their chats, musings and advice are very relatable to aspects of my life. I love their camaraderie and rapport, it’s fulfilling to listen to a group of people who support each other wholeheartedly. My days are brightened by this and the “bad ideas!”

  • Very Helpful

Even as a person who is not a "writer" this is helpful in over coming obstacles in productivity and dealing with negative thoughts etc...

Great advice for any creative enterprise not just writing. Or any productive enterprise, just being more productive around the office! I listen at my cubicle and it is very helpful :)

  • Listening makes me reenergized to create things

The ideas and the stories that come from them are hilarious, but I equally love the back end where Sarah, Zach, and Gabrielle discuss issues related to being a creative person. Listening to this podcast reenergizes me creatively and I love it to bits.
