  • Best Media Pod

Work in ad sales (previously a buyer), I have always looked for a pod that wasn’t speaking just broadly about marketing or so top-line about the media sector, but actually wasn’t afraid to get in the weeds…well this is it. Mike is great and he has guests on that actually know their stuff and don’t speak down to the audience at all. It’s a great listen and will keep you more knowledgeable than your peers.

WTF Happened to The Trade Desk?
Q: Brian, what do you think caused the recent earnings trajectory and layoffs at The Trade Desk?
The consensus points to a combination of negative growth guidance, a deceleration in overall demand, and strategic misalignments with what marketers actually want, particularly a continued focus on transparency and the open web that may not align with current budget priorities.
Connect YouTube Ad Buys to CTV Campaigns
Q: How do you view the role of creators in a TV-like activation strategy?
Creators are viewed as extensions of the creative, with data-driven guidance on who to work with, what messaging to align, and how to select creators that match audience requirements, while balancing brand control and authenticity.
Connect YouTube Ad Buys to CTV Campaigns
Q: What are the main challenges agencies face when trying to unify YouTube, creators, and TV campaigns?
The key issues are fragmented data, a broken marketing workflow from insight to activation, and difficulty translating audience intelligence into effective activation across platforms. The guests emphasize building a cohesive data ecosystem, surfacing intelligence upstream, and validating creator partnerships against audience needs to drive integrated outcomes.
Collectively's Natalie SIlverstein on How to Optimize Creator Video Content
Q: How is AI affecting creator content strategy?
AI and LLMs are changing how content is structured and cited; brands should optimize for signals that are readable by AI, so content can be cited by models, while maintaining human-centric creative and cultural relevance.
Collectively's Natalie SIlverstein on How to Optimize Creator Video Content
Q: How should brands measure ROI when working with creators?
ROI should consider both reach and engagement in algorithmic feeds, with an emphasis on predictive, optimization-driven workflows and the ability to scale creator partnerships without sacrificing authenticity; traditional metrics may not capture the full value.
