I have listened to NGP now for about a few months. I have listened to over 100 episodes in that span and continue to listen to the backlog today.
Dustin, Kenny, and Nolan do a great job of explaining the games they are playing while also being unbiased (unless it’s Final Fantasy for Dustin) with their critique.
Definitely worth your time if you are into retro gaming!
I don’t use that word often. But I did just now, because I’ve just come across this podcast (after it got a shout-out from Gary and Kole on Watch Out for Fireballs), and that is what it is.
This is a great podcast, highly entertaining and sometimes informative.
Love the show. Great hosts. Great topics. Great content.
Its three friends who plays a retro game for a week and review it. Often they have limited knowledge about the game, the context the game was release and even the console Itself, so dont listen expecting an tecnical review. They are charismatic, fun, and the podcast dont have annoying advertisement, so I trully recommend for the fun, non tecnical podcast. For me it lost a lot of points with the "side episodes" they often do and its so awful that hurts more the podcast than helps.

Focused on retro gaming, the discussions are lively and often humorous among three hosts who take turns each week playing and critiquing a classic video game. The podcast not only explores the mechanics and aesthetics of the games but also delves into the personal anecdotes and childhood nostalgia associated with them. Episodes may feature interactions with the gaming community, and sometimes include guests who share their experiences and insights, creating a rich tapestry of gaming memories and critiques. This uniqueness stems from the relaxed, casual format that emphasizes fun and engaging discussions over in-depth expertise.
