  • Thoughtful podcast for global geo-politics & alternative perspectives

Appreciate the diverse guest list, always hearing something new from someone new. Very European-heavy with some western. Not much from other continents (unfortunately, as they’re often on the receiving end of non-neutral policies) but brings light to non-MSM voices.

Three Front War MADNESS: Washington Just Lost Everything | Amb. Chas Freeman
Q: What is your assessment, first and foremost, of West Asia? Where did four months of war with Iran leave the world?
Freeman argues the region remains in a state of unresolved suspense with interlocking moves between major powers; the United States must avoid threats or force while Iran manages strategic chokepoints like the Strait of Hormuz, but recent actions have violated expected norms and worsened tensions.

Q: What are the most critical weaknesses in U.S. military readiness and regional posture as the conflict develops?
The guest emphasizes structural weaknesses such as aging logistics, limited survivability of key platforms, reliance on expensive but fragile systems, and the importance of regional partners who may not always align, suggesting a need for reevaluation of strategy and supply chains.
US Gets Smashed. Irrecoverable Losses. Trump/Hegseth Panic | Stanislav Krapivnik
Q: How do you interpret the current trajectory of the Iran-related conflict and the pushback from leaders like Trump?
The guest points to a pattern of overstatements and strategic misreads from Western leadership, arguing that the conflict is evolving in ways that outpace early expectations and that the region is moving toward a protracted, multi-domain contest rather than quick resolutions.
