Marti and Effie are like a more familiar Karen & Georgia from MFM (IYKYK). Their research is spot on, being Scottish I love that their stories are so local and interesting (& the Aussie ones are ace too!)
Their banter is hilarious, this is a fab wee listen! We need more of these two in our ears!!
Terrible podcast, too much about themselves and their music choices they showed very little compassion for a young woman who was murdered. I feel for the family of Elizabeth if they listened to these insensitive women disrespectfully dribble on about utter rubbish using their daughters death to get listeners.👎
One of my top favourite true crime podcasts. Marty and Effie are so relatable and there's just the right amount of chit-chat (which often has me giggling away to myself on my commute). They tend to alternate between Australian and Scottish cases with some going as far back as the 16th century. The historical ones are my favourites in fact and I also highly recommend the Loch Ness Monster episode which was so interesting and yet also hilarious. The perfect podcast if you're a true crime fan.
Brilliant episode with Eerie Edinburgh! The cottage story!! Really enjoyed the science also and the explanations for ghosts and the supernatural. Could listen all day. Thank you :)
Loved the episode with John from North Edinburgh Nightmares. Great stories particularly the spindly legs and the dog of ward 9. Can’t wait to listen more. Great hosts.

Two mums in Edinburgh host a true crime and mystery show with a playful, personable style that blends local Scottish cases with Australian stories. Across episodes, they cover a wide range of topics—from historic investigations and unsolved crimes to paranormal folklore—often balancing serious content with warmth, humor, and banter. Their regional focus, cross-continental perspectives, and approachable presentation seem to appeal to listeners who enjoy well-researched storytelling delivered with relatable hosts.
