Charting The Rise Of A Multipolar World Order Philip Pilkington is an unorthodox macroeconomist. Andrew Collingwood is an equally skeptical journalist. Lately, both have realised that - post-Ukraine, post-Afghanistan withdrawal - the old, unipolar, US-led world order is in its death throes. In its wake, something new is being born. But what shape will that take? That will depend on a combustible c... more

Brought here via the excellent Neutrality Studies podcast. Excellent topics , lively geopolitical discussion and thought about movement of capital and fascinating projections about social change. Given up on the Guardian and other UK legacy media as they all say the same things and intelligent debate in MSM has sadly died a quiet death.
Geopolitical perspectives that you’ll hear here first, though their crystal ball sees a parallel world without the chaos of climate change. To Philip and Andrew, climate is a “controversial” subject, which is the line the BBC took in the days when they wheeled on Nigel Lawson for “balance” whenever the subject was broached. Pilkington’s sneering disregard for those he disagrees with feels manipulative.
These guys are so far off the mark it’s embarrassing!
I don’t think they have actually called one thing right…
Right wing conspiratorial nonsense..
Regardless of the topic, this podcast seems to push repetitive variations of similar geopolitical pet theories, which are rarely rigorous or measurably empirical. They can be interesting, but only in the way any story can be interesting if novel and well-told.
Additionally, too often (but not always) the hosts are far more assiduous in their application of scepticism to open Western societies than they are to their closed peers, whose “facts” are too readily accepted at face value.

Multipolarity offers dense, programmatic takes on geopolitics, macroeconomics, and global power realignments. Episodes consistently explore how economic policy, security dynamics, and technological competition shape a shifting multipolar order. The hosts' distinct mix of unorthodox macroeconomics and skeptical journalism tends to produce contrarian, data-informed perspectives, with frequent focus on US-European relations, China, the Middle East, and major geopolitical flashpoints. A notable strength is the breadth of guest voices and timely, issue-driven discussions around policy, markets, and power, making it a compelling listen for decision-makers evaluating geopolitical risk, macro trends, and strategy in a rapidly changing world.
