Ojai. Didn’t see you there. Do you like Gary Coleman? Have a non-sexual interest in gay porn? Wonder what the street food scene is like in Greenland? This might be the podcast for you! Led by one time The Price Is Right winner, Matt Simpson, Movie Melt focuses mostly on vanity projects gone right(?). Movies that probably shouldn’t exist but are fascinating in their earnestness and humanity. There is a kind of Skid Row Dr. Demento charm to it all. You’ll either love it or hate it. I hope you lov... more
I hear you. I know what you say about me.
A buddy pal with similar movie tastes recommended this podcast and I am forever grateful. The movies that are covered are always worth the watch, even when they’re terrible. I have seen the most epically bizarre movies thanks to these fine, weird folks. Fan for life!
You are not a morning zoo Radio show. Grating, annoying, horrible sound bites and often WAY too loud compared to the actual audio. Also need to focus the actual episodes, who is actually listening to 4+ hours?
If you love toilet flushing sounds, giggling, and Gary Busey then Movie Melt is the ‘cast for you. It’s great to listen to at work because the episodes are lengthy (and girthy) so they meander around the topic and talk about whatever is on their mind.

A quirky, crowd-pleasing show that leans into cult, oddball, and trash cinema through lively roundtable discussions, deep dives into obscure titles, and humorous tangents. Episodes center on low‑budget horror, sci‑fi, and exploitation cinema from VHS-era subgenres, with regulars sparking nostalgia, behind‑the‑scenes anecdotes, and unapologetic fandom. A standout niche is the rotating cast, a strong sense of community among cinephile outsiders, and a playful, unpolished energy that keeps long episodes engaging for devoted listeners who crave offbeat recommendations and deep cuts.
