  • Appreciate your finale summary for Something Very Bad is Going to Happen!

I also binged the show over the course of one day. I thought the premise was very thought-provoking and it had me on the edge of my seat. Thank you for this review and explaining some of the key details about the final episode which where my head. And looking for other podcasts about the show, I found yours to be the best. Short, sweet, interesting and insightful!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

'DTF St. Louis' Ep 5 | Doctor Talks Peyronie's Disease | DTF St. Louis The Unofficial Aftershow
Q: What is Peyronie's disease, and how is it defined?
It is a penile deformity that occurs with an erection, most commonly presenting as curvature, sometimes with hourglass shapes or length loss, and it can affect both physical and psychological aspects of a man's life; there are multiple treatment options, and many patients respond well to non-surgical approaches.
'DTF St. Louis' Episode 4 BREAKDOWN | Former St. Louis Detective Joins Us | DTF St. Louis The Unofficial Aftershow
Q: How realistic is the depiction of subpoenas and data handling in the show?
Subpoenas and data analysis in real investigations are much slower and more cumbersome, but the show uses shortcuts for pacing; the guest explains that while some procedures are accurate, others are streamlined for TV.
'DTF St. Louis' Episode 4 BREAKDOWN | Former St. Louis Detective Joins Us | DTF St. Louis The Unofficial Aftershow
Q: What did you think about the portrayal of the aftermath and the character dynamics in episode four?
The episode does a great job of layering character tensions—especially Carol and Floyd—while maintaining momentum in the mystery, and the guest provides grounded insight into what parts of the investigation feel authentic versus dramatized.
'DTF St. Louis' Episode 2 BREAKDOWN | "Snag It" and a Sex and Marriage Therapist Interview | DTF St. Louis The Unofficial Aftershow
Q: What would you kind of counsel people to do, especially again, as you get back to this idea of like, don't cheat, don't make it secretive. What else can you do?
Establish open communication, seek therapy or coaching, and consider steps to re-evaluate priorities and boundaries before changing the relationship structure.
'DTF St. Louis' Episode 2 BREAKDOWN | "Snag It" and a Sex and Marriage Therapist Interview | DTF St. Louis The Unofficial Aftershow
Q: So do you think a show like this can be helpful to opening up conversations or can it sometimes be harmful because it shows these folks in a certain type of way?
It can be both: it can spark important conversations and normalizing talk about sex, but it can also depict non-monogamy without emphasizing consent and communication, which may be harmful.
