I like this podcast a lot, i wish the sound quality was better. it can be a bit uncomfortable to listen to as the sound quality of interviewees and interviewer is not good. the content is so good and interesting.
Dean baker is the most consistent, astute, accurate, economists around. I have been reading his blog for many years. Very glad he has moved to a podcast.
While the guests are top of their fields and given the chance the speak extensively, the audio is so poor that it makes it hard to stay engaged and to listen to. Please upgrade the audio quality! All it takes is a few good mics…
The audio quality is terrible. Dean sounds like he is in a room with no sound absorptive surfaces. Makes it difficult to listen to.

The show centers on how U.S. economic policy shapes everyday life, from housing costs and healthcare to wages and employment. Episodes frequently dissect affordability, labor markets, government programs, and broader policy outcomes, often featuring economists and policy experts who connect academic research to real-world impacts. A notable strength is bringing complex policy debates into accessible conversations, while occasionally facing critiques about audio quality.
