  • Giving Thanks

I am thankful Cass and Kathryn are willing to share their deeply personal story so that others may find the same healing they have found. I appreciate their blunt honesty. As I have listened to the podcasts, I have realized the things that I have heard that have gotten under my skin have only done so because they are true and I just don’t like it. Thanks Cass and Kathryn for not sugar coating the truth.

  • Cass still seems very dismissive of Kathryn

They seem dangerous for specifically other women in abusive relationships to imply the abuser can be fixed. Nothing about the way he talks convinces me that behind the scenes he’s truly a better person now.

  • Down to earth, but amateurs

I listened to a few dozen episodes. I appreciate that Cass and Kathryn are down to earth and are honest about their story (he was despicable, abusive scum and Kathryn found a way to forgive him).

Their downfall is they only know their circumstances and those of their clients, and they attract clients similar to themselves. They’ve learned some things about psychology and relationships, but their education is narrow and shallow. They’ve learned what worked for them and those are the only solutio... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

She won't meet me halfway. How to lead anyway? | Q&A | Ep388
Q: What should Rick do to lead more effectively and reduce defensiveness?
Lead by becoming the 'new man'—embody personal responsibility, stay curious with his partner, practice self-empathy, and avoid expecting her to change before he does. Progress comes from consistent self-work and safe, non-defensive communication.
“Nice Guy” Behavior Got Me Here — How to Change for REAL | Marriage Q&A | Ep396
Q: How do we best serve you here today?
They steer Devin toward focusing on self-improvement and defining clear personal boundaries, rather than acting out of desperation to save the marriage, reinforcing that genuine change comes from within.
“I Can’t Trust Him” — Husband Lies Constantly | Marriage Q&A | Ep390
Q: Could you accept that he's probably trying to tell you the truth, but maybe he's afraid to tell you the truth?
The hosts suggest focusing on the underlying dynamics, daily accountability, and a posture that makes it safer for her husband to tell the truth, emphasizing ongoing daily engagement and structured support.
How to Communicate Without Getting Defensive (And Stop Divorce Threats) | Marriage Q&A | Ep392
Q: So it makes sense, the first thing that I heard was that you said, he's a great communicator, and you are not a great communicator. You said that, right?
The point is that communication is not just speaking; it's about listening and understanding. If you're shutting down, you're missing the opportunity to hear the emotions behind his words, which is where the real disconnect starts.
Job Sex vs Real Intimacy: How to Rebuild Desire Without Expecting Sex | Marriage Q&A | Ep397
Q: I think the hardest part of my question for you today is, how do you balance coming out of that job sex phase, right? And then not expecting sex, knowing that it's not, you know, that's not why I'm doing it, just wanting that crazy, that crazy intimacy is all over the place.
The hosts walk Ned through staying hopeful without expecting sex, emphasizing that true progress comes from rebuilding intimacy across multiple levels—daily conversations, shared dreams, fun banter, and deliberate self-work—so that desire can re-emerge naturally rather than as a contractual outcome.
