  • Really unkind

I am really disappointed by your episode about trans folks. I get that there are opposing perspectives in this controversial topic but it is very unfair to discuss trans rights and trans healthcare without including a trans person in the conversation. This is like having an episode about women’s rights without including a woman. Or talking about black people and the priesthood without talking to any black people about the pain that causes. (Actually, now that I type this, I realize you have ... more

  • The powerful brain of Bill.

That should be a tee shirt! With a Pinky and the Brain vibe. Bill is exceptional at educating. He chooses fascinating topics and can flawlessly break them down into understandable pieces. By the end you feel validated as a post-mo and edified on the church.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What Do The Dead Sea Scrolls Mean For The Book of Mormon?
Q: What kind of textual evidence should we see if the Book of Mormon were historical?
We would expect the Book of Mormon's Isaiah verses to agree more closely with the Great Isaiah Scroll than with the later Masoretic Text or King James Version.
Personal Letter To Elder Renlund
Q: What was the moment you go from being an active Latter Day Saint to not believing anymore?
There wasn't a singular event or a particular point of doctrine. Changes in the Book of Mormon were of concern to me.
President Nelson Dies & Michigan LDS Church Attack
Q: How will the leadership change in the LDS Church with President Nelson's passing affect its members?
There is speculation on the direction the church will take next, especially in light of the openness and modernization seen during Nelson's presidency.
LDS Church vs The Wall Street Journal
Q: What are your thoughts on the divide between those who stay and those who leave the LDS Church?
The divide is painful and is often compared to a divorce. Both sides experience hurt, and the church's teachings exacerbate these feelings.
The Legal Battles of Mormonism’s Joseph Smith
Q: Do you think his legal encounters could have stuck with the treason charges?
It's possible he could have escaped serious consequences, but given the evidence against him, especially regarding his actions within the Nauvoo government and public interactions, the treason charges were serious and might have led to significant repercussions.
