  • Fluctuations in sound levels

Hi I enjoy listening to this podcast but often there are huge fluctuations in sound volume ... inaudible from one of the hosts while super loud from the other. Would appreciate if someone could look into this issue. Thanks!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What the Liberal Majority in Canada means for Retirees
Q: What does the Liberal majority mean for retirees in the near term?
Experts suggest stability in governance may improve business and economic outlooks, with cautious openness to reforms like OAS, but no immediate removals of core programs; the focus will likely be targeted changes to help affordability rather than broad cuts.
“Best of” Tax Season Meets Retirement: What It Means for You
Q: What are the three most common tax issues retirees face and how can they be solved?
The discussion suggests most retirees have manageable tax situations with small, efficient income sources but can face more complexity when money sits in non-registered accounts, corporations, or estate planning needs. Solutions include income splitting, strategic withdrawals, designing tax-efficient legacy planning within corporations, and using tax credits and planning to minimize lifetime taxes.
Should You Use AI to Plan Your Retirement?
Q: How should people use AI in conjunction with professional advice?
Use AI as an information gatherer and starting point for questions, then bring outputs to a professional to verify applicability to your specific situation and goals, especially for complicated planning scenarios.
Should You Use AI to Plan Your Retirement?
Q: Why should you be cautious about relying on AI for retirement decisions?
Because retirement is a human journey driven by lifestyle goals and relationships, not just numbers; AI can supply information but may miss personal priorities and may push strategies that don't fit an individual's life plan without human coaching.
Should You Use AI to Plan Your Retirement?
Q: What can AI do well in retirement planning?
AI can answer straightforward, factual questions like when you can take money out of an RRSP and provide broad overviews of economic concepts, but it struggles with personalized timing and nuanced factors that depend on an individual's full financial picture.
