  • Faith and giving

Comes voluntarily not through lies, receipt and enforcement through the same methods, including forcing people to live on the street. That does not demonstrate faith, what it demonstrates is religion.

What Does Tithing Look Like in Retirement? with Anthony Saffer
Q: What if someone wonders whether to tithe on the gross or on everything they receive in retirement?
Two frameworks exist: tithe on the increase or growth portion first, or tithe on income as it's received; both aim for faithful, joyful giving, with the choice depending on personal conviction, priorities, and desire to avoid double counting.
What Does Tithing Look Like in Retirement? with Anthony Saffer
Q: How would someone actually begin to estimate the increase versus return of principle in retirement?
Review contribution history and account statements, choose a reasonable percentage split between principal and growth, then apply this estimate consistently over time while remaining open to adjustment as new growth occurs.
What Does Tithing Look Like in Retirement? with Anthony Saffer
Q: Anthony, do you recommend a general percentage for folks as they're thinking about, for instance, Social Security or is it really vary so much that you need to go look at your contribution statement?
Social Security contributions are largely principal when inflation-adjusted, but in practice most people should avoid re-tithing on what they've already tithed and instead estimate a reasonable split between principal and growth, applying it consistently with prayerful discernment.
The Risks of Credit Card Churning
Q: What is credit card churning and why is it risky?
It involves opening multiple new cards to chase sign-up bonuses, which can trigger hard inquiries, lower average account age, and may lead to claw backs or penalties if not managed carefully; it's often more work and risk than it's worth for many people.
Giving Now, Not Later with Cody Hobelmann
Q: Why is it more impactful to give now rather than waiting until later?
Giving now allows you to experience the joy of generosity immediately, see the harvest of your giving, and multiply impact while building spiritual formation and trust with God.
