Shawn Johnson, KISS THE FIRE: 7 Ways to Get Back Up When You Want to Give Up
Q: What is the one thing that you feel has either helped the most or that we need to take away from your story?
Not giving up during tough times often reveals purpose, and that purpose can bring peace and fulfillment, helping you make a difference in others' lives.
Shawn Johnson, KISS THE FIRE: 7 Ways to Get Back Up When You Want to Give Up
Q: Tell us about your book and what inspired you to write it.
I was diagnosed with an incurable brain disease, and after reflecting on my experiences, I thought sharing my journey could help others going through tough times.
Melinda Strauss, EAT JEWISH: Over 100 Recipes That Blend Jewish Heritage, Modern Flavors, and Family Traditions
Q: And how did it go, or have you experienced any anti-Semitism along the way of getting the book published? Are you worried about coming out with this book in the current landscape?
I'm worried about negative feedback online, but I feel like my book is fighting anti-Semitism by educating people about Judaism. It's important for me to share this perspective and combat ignorance.
Melinda Strauss, EAT JEWISH: Over 100 Recipes That Blend Jewish Heritage, Modern Flavors, and Family Traditions
Q: Tell me about the cookbook. Tell me about why you decided to start with your dad and how, yeah, we'll just go from there.
The cookbook was inspired by my TikTok, where I found my voice and began sharing recipes while talking about Judaism. My dad wrote the foreword because he has been a significant part of my social media and it felt right for him to contribute that way.
Corinne Low PhD, HAVING IT ALL: What Data Tells Us About Women's Lives and Getting the Most Out of Yours
Q: How can individuals evaluate their partners in relationships?
Consider them as co-CEOs of the household and look for shared values that will lead to mutual support and happiness.
