Not please to see she had Josie Balka on, who is part of a Trump supporting breeding cult. Absolutely not someone who needs a platform.

Having a guest on and not even saying their name correctly is interview 101. Embarrassing and rude.

  • Great Guests

I’ve enjoyed the guests but wish they were the ones reading the excerpts from their works rather than Zibby. Also the giggles and “gushing” over the guests sometimes overshadows Zibby’s serious questions about their writing.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Finding Yourself with Blair Glaser
Q: How did your approach to memoir evolve during the writing process?
She describes a shift from writing service pieces to allowing the memoir to tell a personal story with interiority and suspense, writing across multiple drafts (about nine) and finally embracing a more narrative, less explanatory voice.
Finding Yourself with Blair Glaser
Q: What was the publishing piece like for you, Blair? Was it self-published or through a traditional route?
Blair explains she opted for traditional publishing rather than self-publishing, pursued agents and independent presses, and ultimately chose a small press (Heliotrope) for its fit and credibility.
Ruthie Rogers Sits Down with Celebs
Q: How did the restaurant become such a celebrity hotspot and why did you decide to turn the project into a book?
The restaurant's intimate storytelling through food, plus invitations to share personal memories and recipes, drew in famous guests. Amy Bell from Simon & Schuster then saw the book potential and helped formalize the transition from podcast to published work, making the book a natural extension of the conversations.
A Love Letter to a Former Teacher with Brian Platzer
Q: Working on anything new?
Aiming for something completely different—perhaps aliens or monsters—to break out of the current real-world frame and explore a fresh narrative direction.
A Love Letter to a Former Teacher with Brian Platzer
Q: What would Mr. Keating think of this book and your life now?
He would likely be modest and a bit embarrassed, perhaps wanting to write about something else, but the work stands as a tribute to his influence and the enduring bond between teacher and student.
