  • I listened to these two fucking yokels because they invited a third yokel onto their podcast who's getting a little more attention than he deserves. Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance. Boy I have not heard so much projection in so short a time period than these three. But at least it gave me the insight to finally figure out JD Vance. He's the smartest stupid person around. He can make arguments, but he doesn't realize that his points apply equally to him. Honestly I'm surprised he can breathe... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Can We End Birthright Citizenship? (ft. Ilan Wurman)
Q: What is your preferred framing for reform if the executive order is struck down?
Advocate for legislative action, including removing or weakening the filibuster to pass broadly supported immigration and naturalization reforms, and for new statutes like the Birthright Citizenship Expatriation Act to handle cases of birth to temporary visitors who return to their home country.
Can We End Birthright Citizenship? (ft. Ilan Wurman)
Q: What concrete steps could Congress take if the Court rules against the administration?
Propose passing the Birthright Citizenship Expansion Act to redefine who is a citizen by birth, while considering retroactive naturalization for those already in the country under certain conditions, and potentially expediting moves to remove or expatriate future birthright claims.
Can We End Birthright Citizenship? (ft. Ilan Wurman)
Q: Which way do you think the Supreme Court will rule on birthright citizenship in the Trump v. Barbara context?
The guest suggests the outcome is uncertain, noting an uphill battle against the conventional wisdom, but expects the Court to grapple deeply with the connections between ambassadors, invaders, and Indian tribes, and to consider domicile and lawful presence in determining jurisdiction.
Small Business Supremacy (ft. William Fry)
Q: How does the SBA 7A program fit into your model and what changes could help Main Street access capital better?
We use SBA 7A as a foundational tool for ownership transitions but its current form is not ideal for gradual, annual ownership shifts; we'd like reforms that increase caps, simplify collateral requirements, and create options like zero-subsidy stipends or fronted capital to help small towns compete for contracts and grow locally.
Small Business Supremacy (ft. William Fry)
Q: What do you do at American Operator and how does your model work in practice?
We buy solid small businesses facing succession issues, pair them with a capable operator sourced from a large bench, and structure the deal so the operator starts with a minority stake that grows to majority through performance over about a decade, keeping ownership local and local wealth in communities.
