  • Seems interesting so far

City Journal is a great outlet and deserves benefit of the doubt.

We have a major problem with grift and derangement on the Podcast right. From Candace to Tucker to Megyn, if you’re taking what those three say seriously then the joke’s on you.

Assuming the Israel brain infection doesn’t reach these guys, then it’s a good option for legitimate intelligent conversation. Worth a listen.

  • Conservative Alternative to Ezra Klein

Very good conversations between well read, thoughtful, and most importantly, honest brokers in our ongoing world of different opinions. Moves along in an entertaining way, really does address both sides, even if their preference is evident, which is par for the course after all.

  • Rufo and Lomez bring a great perspective for conservatives. They are both highly intelligent and I appreciate listening to that versus other conservative podcasters.

Loved discussion from divergent viewpoints. Opened my conservative eyes in a positive way. Both offered thoughtful suggestions to try to wrest the culture back toward the middle.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Interview with Michael Tracey: How Epstein Is the New Russiagate | Ep 46
Q: What is the worst thing Epstein verifiably did, in your view?
Epstein's documented conduct involved sexual exploitation and abuse of underage girls within a relatively narrow window of his life; the broader claim of a long-running, fully organized conspiracy involving a matrix of intelligence agencies and global power players remains unproven by the available records, though the case certainly raises serious questions about sexual predation and accountability.
Interview with Michael Tracey: How Epstein Is the New Russiagate | Ep 46
Q: What did you find? Can you summarize the basic narrative of what convinced you that the maximalist Epstein narrative was bonk?
I reviewed years of court documents, transcripts, and the broader documentary record, and while there were many sensational claims, the most provocative version—of a large-scale covert operation—lacked consistent, verifiable evidence when you systematically go through the sources; the narrative is more complex and often driven by folklore than by a single, solid set of facts.
Interview w/ Steve Hilton: California’s Missing Billions | Ep 37
Q: What's happening in California that makes this moment different from before?
Hilton argues the state is in a crisis of governance driven by Democratic one-party rule, extensive fraud, and a corrupt funding machine that channels taxpayer money to political nonprofits and donor-affiliated entities, making reform both urgent and difficult.
How Your iPhone Is Killing America’s Fertility Rate | Ep 36
Q: What single policy lever would most effectively raise fertility to 2.0 in a Caesar-like scenario?
Reforming means-tested programs to convert marriage penalties into marriage bonuses could be the most impactful, paired with housing policy that enables affordable starter homes; this would reduce disincentives to marry and start families.
How Your iPhone Is Killing America’s Fertility Rate | Ep 36
Q: Is it really possible that stated desires for family size are accurate predictors of future behavior, or do revealed preferences dominate?
The data show a strong correlation between stated desires and future behavior, especially for those who marry earlier, suggesting that expressed preferences do have predictive power, though context and timing matter.
