They piece together Anna's story, racing between speakeasies, mob informants and former drag queens. But will their heroine's secrets unlock more than ... more

I was hoping for more details like an investigative journalism deep dive. If I compare this in level of detail to “Your Own Backyard”, Mob Queens comes across as surface. Each episode should be twice as long. Where are the interviews with people who knew Jackie about what she was like? I’m sure this series could have been much better if there was more investment in the roots of the story rather than guesses and hypotheses that aren’t really proven, but might have been if more interviews and rese... more
I just listened to several episodes of this show while driving and it was the most interesting three motorway hours of my life. It’s so compelling and told so well that it totally took me away from my own boring reality. I also really appreciate how respectfully the hosts treat people they speak to. Sometimes in investigative series I get the ick from a sense of mild exploitation or lack of empathy from the producers, but this is never like that. It’s a fascinating series that I 100% recommended... more
I do wish finding new podcasts wasn’t so difficult because I just discovered this gem today . I love that the two hosts are professional, funny without being disrespectful to the family and more of what the true crime genre needs.
Compelling information of a person I’ve always wanted to learn more about. It’s an incredible story, and finally shared. Unfortunately, the hosts can be incredibly annoying. Fake/terrible accents combined with moments of mind blowing ignorance - too many cringe inducing moments from the hosts hindered the story telling.
I listen on and off to The Bowery Boys podcast, and I love them. But one day I tried looking up history about queens, New York from them, and they did a short, 5 minute preview about Mob Queens podcast so I thought I’d give it a go, and my oh my!!! I am SO happy I found you two beauts! I LOVE hearing your enthusiasm and interest in history and in architecture and the New York mob! I’m only on episode 4 but I can’t stop listening! Thank you for doing so much research and letting me go along with ... more
