I have only recently discovered Sean and now will be a regular listener. I love his relaxed style, just vulnerability of what he shares about himself but most of all his informed insight into TMS in general. As a practicing physio, I particularly liked his episode on why physical therapy didn’t work. Spot on!

Keep up the great work. I really appreciate what podcasters like you do! Thank you!

  • Thank you, Sean!

I’ve recently discovered this after a few years learning from many kind authors, podcasters, and YouTubers inspired to help others overcome neuroplastic symptoms. Somehow Sean is providing new epiphanies and insights key to my own situation that I have not engaged with elsewhere. Sean is so brave and generous-hearted to openly and authentically share his ardent, sensitive soul and help us feel it is okay to be ourselves, too. I continue to be drawn to listen to all the episodes, each time walki... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

S5 E5 | Dr. Dan Ratner on the ATNS, and Exploring the Leading Edges in our Field
Q: Tell us about the three columns and why you developed them.
The three columns capture the core processes people need to engage with: emotions (feeling), doubt (thinking), and power (self-alignment) to navigate mind-body symptoms and move toward better health; they organize experiences and guide when to work on each aspect for faster recovery.
S5 E4 | A Physical Therapist Who Can Help You, with Nida Tansinsin, MPT
Q: What makes physical therapists different when treating neuroplastic pain compared to traditional approaches?
A trained PT can connect physical findings with neuroplastic explanations, validate the patient's experience, and frame movement as a safe, controlled exploration to reduce fear, rather than focusing solely on biomechanical fixes.
S5 E3 | Minority Stress, from a Queer Male Perspective, with Dustin Oliver, MHC-LP
Q: What is the origin story of Dustin's podcast and how does it connect to the host's work?
Dustin describes turning therapy topics into approachable content, which aligns with the host's aim to promote mind-body healing for chronic pain and to connect listeners with practical psychological tools.
S5 E3 | Minority Stress, from a Queer Male Perspective, with Dustin Oliver, MHC-LP
Q: Why did Dustin start Boy Meets Therapy and how does it relate to this discussion?
Dustin explains that the podcast started as a free, accessible resource to discuss therapy, especially for queer men, and to provide creative, engaging guidance beyond traditional therapy settings.
S4 E11 | Recovery from Chronic Piriformis Pain, IBS, Psoriasis, and more with Mônica Lia Setti
Q: Let me ask you, how are things now in terms of symptoms, like your body, how are you now?
Symptoms are largely diminished and not chronic; when they appear, they prompt reflection on calendar balance, rest, and social connection rather than targeted medical fixes.
