Thank you for filling the void for the great but not forgotten Parliament of Rooks podcast.I listen to some of your other podcast an you can feel the passion. I sometimes think you are too intelligent for this medium so it is hard sometimes for me to keep up.That is my problem not yours.I am giving you 5 stars for your effort.Keep up the good work.
Ryan has done it again. This podcast hits it out of the park. Ryan and his guests draw you in and do a great job getting the visuals out there. I love the Deadman and Spectre story’s the best. Five Stars all the way. Thank you Ryan.
Ryan is a podmaster. On this horror-tastic show, he reviews and discusses classic horror comics from DC history. If you see Aparo when you think of the Spectre, Wrightson when you think of Swamp Thing, and don’t giggle when you say “Plop!”, then this is this show for you!

Great takes on a genre that I’m not that familiar with. It makes me want to find some in the dollar bins.
Eagerly awaiting another team up
with “AJ” Frightful. That was gold.
Nice to see Midnight is back. Plus an appearance from your well spoken wife! She did great. My wife has opinions on (my) comics. Though she has never read one.
I am legend is a great book.
Check out the other films based on the book. (Book is still way better.)
There is also a comic adaptation.
Congrats on the baby.
Ryan Daly has produced a truly creepy podcast that has a greater effect than many of the stories they are covering. The discussion of the comics is enjoyable but the true highlights are the original stories by Ryan that start off each episode. Beware of listening to it alone at night!!
Ryan Daly has established himself as a superb podcaster with such shows as The Secret Origins Podcast, and Batman Knightcast. These are phenomenal shows.
But, Midnight... The Podcasting Hour blows them away in terms of the scope, originality, and production value.
It's a unique and engaging format that is wielded by the host (and guests) like a ninja wields a katana. Top notch across the board.
I just have a hard time staying up until midnight, but this show makes it totally worth it! The horror comics are ones I love, but still have something of a blind spot with - this show fills in some missing pieces in such a fun way!
I'm enjoying this new podcast. It seems to cover new ground by talking about comics with a horror theme and doing a good job exploring that subject matter.
I intentionally waited to leave this review as I wanted to see Ryan through on his intent to cover one of each of the properties promised before looping back around to continue his coverage with his guests. I suppose a part of me felt it was my duty as a fellow comics podcaster to make certain each feature lived up to the standard expected of a Daly Production. I honestly don't know why I waited.
Since the Secret Origins podcast (and, let's face it, basically every guest appearance Ryan has eve... more
It'll thrill you. It'll chill you. This podcast will remind you of reading spooky adventure and horror stories under the covers after bedtime. PJ Frightful proves to be the boundary-pushing horror host that Ryan Daly needed. Spooky and entertaining even if you don't know all these old books. A can't miss classic here.
Ryan Daly has assembled a murderer’s row of podcasters to discuss an often-overlooked sub genre of DC comics: the horror/mystery characters. From one-off tales of terror to household names like Swamp Thing, It’s Midnight…the Podcasting Hour covers every crypt in the vast DC Universe.
Plus, you get to hear original, chilling tales from host P.J. Frightful! If you love comics in general and horror in particular, it’s frightening to think you’re missing out on this one!
A look at the DC horror comics of the 70s and 80s complete with it's own spooky opening segment before host Ryan Daly (who really needs to stop making the rest of us look so bad) and his rotating guests tackle such luminaries as Swamp Thing, Dead Man and the House of Mystery. If you know Ryan's work then you already know the show is quality.
This podcast from the Fire & Water Network sees DC's library of spooky characters curated by PJ Frightful. The horrible host opens his rotting doors to Ryan 'Deadly' Daly and creepy co-hosts to discuss Swamp Thing, Deadman, Night Force and more. Non-series shorts culled from the likes of House of Secrets, Tales of the Unexpected and Ghosts add random revulsion.
So, dare you enter the Podcast of Pain?
I love the horror host idea, and the show is good once the hosts get into the various DC horror series as well. Ryan Daly does it again, folks. Secret Origins wasn't his "one hit wonder".
