Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Mutiny Within - Mutiny Within (2010) [w/ Chris Clancy of Mutiny Within / As I Lay Dying]
Q: Were the debut album songs already in place or were you still Frankensteining older material into new forms?
We had about three songs from the start, Awake becoming a single and Images following a similar direction, with The End and Oblivion explored as more experimental tracks; ultimately, the band culled a lot from roughly 50 demos, weaving them into the cohesive album that ended up being released.
With Honor - This Is Our Revenge (2005) [w/ Todd Mackey of With Honor]
Q: What is something looking back now that you would do differently when making this record?
Mackey wishes they had not worried so much about others' perceptions and enjoyed the creative process more, emphasizing the importance of letting go of anxiety and trusting their artistic journey.
With Honor - This Is Our Revenge (2005) [w/ Todd Mackey of With Honor]
Q: What do you remember fondly about making this record?
Mackey recalls having many great moments with producer Brian McTernan, who instilled a present and encouraging outlook, allowing the band to focus on capturing their sound without getting bogged down by stress.
Scar the Martyr - Scar the Martyr (2013) [w/ Henry Derek Elis & Rhys Fulber]
Q: What is a fond memory for you from this time?
Being in the band, I remember where it was all smiles, and we were in a really good place.
Scar the Martyr - Scar the Martyr (2013) [w/ Kris Norris of Darkest Hour]
Q: What were your expectations now that you were in the band with the guy from Slipknot?
Kris felt a sense of calmness being in the band, acknowledging the significance of the moment and the culmination of years of practice.
