  • Day One Sub

Friday radio is saving this show right now because it’s the only thing related to actual music. The show is constantly getting bogged down in the worst conversations around county fair pop punk festivals and the politics of fest flyers.

  • Who cares

Talk about hardcore. Nobody cares who doesn’t like Patrick or what Patrick had for dinner or who Patrick talked to at the dog park.

  • This week on “is turnstile a hardcore band or not”

Yall could talk about literally anything else. Like 4 weeks in a row on “is turnstile hardcore?”

  • Friday Nights…. Alright!

Love the main show, and also really enjoying the Friday night treats, please keep them going. I have “discovered” so many great tracks and artists thanks to y’all.

  • Time for a change

10-20 minutes every episode on Patrick’s WiFi connection. This podcast used to be cool but now they just vaguely discuss music. Are afraid to say that anything is bad and never give context of all the Twitter drama they talk about.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

A2G447 - Emo Is Not Dead Most Likely
Q: What was the central premise of the emo revival book, and is it more of a reaction or an evolution to the emo that preceded it?
The book frames the emo revival as a synthesis and reaction: bands drew from the past (90s emo, post-hardcore) while reinterpreting it through basement shows, DIY culture, and the social shifts of the 2000s, creating a new lineage that could coexist with indie and hardcore while expanding the scene's audience.
A2G416 - The Future Is English Muffin Pizza
Q: What trends do you think are going to be the thing in hardcore music in 2026?
hosts discuss upcoming trends and show their predictions for the year.
A2G387 - HC GLAMPFIRE
Q: The indicator of a hardcore recession?
The hosts suggest 'cheap shows' as an indicator, noting that promoters may reduce ticket prices during lean times.
A2G387 - HC GLAMPFIRE
Q: How stoked would the youth be for Tear It Up right now?
While they were a great band, the hosts feel that Tear It Up is not currently part of the conversation for new youth audiences.
A2G387 - HC GLAMPFIRE
Q: Is Strike Anywhere a hardcore band?
Yes, both Strike Anywhere and Kid Dynamite are hardcore bands, despite their incorporation of other sounds.
