  • Good Stuff

I was researching Jobber as I was considering moving back to their service after a year or so away (with Buildertrend) and stumbled upon this. I thought it was really good, and it was really good timing for me. I listened to all of them within a few days while I was working.

    I highly recommend it.

She 2X'd Her Revenue by Buying 3 Failing Businesses
Q: How do you price and structure the buyouts, especially for client lists?
I used a flat upfront price with monthly payments tied to a revenue percentage from the client list, with a cap and a set date to determine if the payment would continue or stop.
She 2X'd Her Revenue by Buying 3 Failing Businesses
Q: What did you discover when you bought the first business, and how did that affect your approach?
The staff weren't paid, which prompted me to prioritize paying the cleaners and integrating the client list with a focus on preserving the eco-friendly brand while absorbing the customers into our own.
She 2X'd Her Revenue by Buying 3 Failing Businesses
Q: Revenue and scale: what are you currently bringing in, and how fast are you growing?
We're at about 1.3 million in sales last year, with growth expected this year, and a team of around 56 employees/contractors.

Q: How do you handle follow-ups after sending an estimate?
We implement automated follow-ups on the day after, and then again the following day, ensuring three touchpoints within three days; if the client is considering multiple quotes, proactive follow-ups help close the job faster and improve the close rate.

Q: What has been the biggest change in your estimating workflow with speed to lead?
Automation and AI have shifted estimating from a manual, hand-drawn process to real-time, AI-assisted drafting that starts the moment the client submits basic task details and photos; this has dramatically reduced turnaround times and increased the number of estimates produced daily.
