After three chapters of airtight indictment, God himself provides the righteousness no one could produce — manifested in Christ, witnessed by the whole Old Testament, and offered freely through faith to everyone who will believe.
The law closes every door and stops every mouth, leaving the whole world accountable to God with no plea remaining — which is exactly the posture in which the gospel finds us.
