Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Markets Now Closes - 4-6-26 Chuck Shelby, Risk Management Commodities
Q: Is the market starting to bid for those acres yet or when will we?
Markets are pricing in potential shifts in acres based on fertilizer affordability and the relative profitability of corn versus soybeans, with traders watching for weather, planting progress, and export demand signals to confirm the next move.
Markets Now Closes - 4-6-26 Chuck Shelby, Risk Management Commodities
Q: Let's start off, Chuck, talking about the corn and soybean market. I know we saw a little profit taking. I had a long holiday, but we came back in on Monday with higher crude oil.
Profit taking has cooled a bit, but there are still fundamental supports from export inspections and weather expectations; the war environment and fertilizer costs are key wildcards that could push or pull planting intentions and prices in coming weeks.
Markets Now Closes - 4-10-26 Don Roose, U.S. Commodities
Q: And Don, let's start off talking about the soybean market. Do you think we've built in ideas that we'll get some business from China in this mid-May meeting?
The market has been buoyed by oil and meal strength, and while there may be optimism about new business with China, there are also big question marks from the geopolitics and the timing of purchases, so any positive impact may be uncertain and contingent on the meeting outcomes.
Markets Now Early - 4-8-26 Randy Martinson, Martinson Ag
Q: What impact do you anticipate from a potential U.S.–China trade framework or Board of Trade concept on agricultural demand?
China appears keen to advance cooperation and may announce additional purchases of U.S. soybeans, which could underpin soybean prices even as bean oil remains pressured by the broader energy complex.
Markets Now Early - 4-8-26 Randy Martinson, Martinson Ag
Q: All right. So you don't think we're going to take much more war premium out of either crude oil or like corn and wheat?
I don't think so. We've already taken a lot out, and we need to see ships moving through the Strait of Hormuz to validate the pace of any further compression, with the potential timing around July for fertilizer deliveries affecting planting decisions.
