That was a very thoughtful show. I’m 72 and think about dying everyday now that the virus is here. But the actual dying is the least of my concerns. Getting one’s life in order, even down to who will care for my cat, is an enormous undertaking. This woman knows she is dying and has the means to do so, but she clings to life like all of us do. I’m in perpetual quarantine and that is killing me too.
I have really enjoyed this podcast but I think I heard an error by one of the guests in this week’s episode. Syphilis is caused by a bacterium not a virus! The guest was talking about the horrific Tuskegee Study and a similar one in Guatemala. She kept referring to viruses in her comments. I was surprised that Dr Emanuel did not clarify the issue. Confusing viruses and bacteria contributes to inappropriate antibiotic use.
Two medical ethics/ health policy experts that are easy to understand - have been appreciating the weekly insight into health care each week
Really digs into ethics and all the ethical parameters you have to consider in medicine. Really enjoying the content so far
