  • I don't think that Mr. Dunt has anything useful to say.

His understanding of the energy system is woeful and his ideas on electoral reform are no better.

    I love your other content.

  • Love the podcast but…

Please introduce guests, there have been a few episodes where it seems like the first few min is just a teaser for the episode but confusingly it’s actually the episode without any context for who the guest is, then we have to try and peace together context through the episode

  • Remainer guests touting 10 year old arguments is so boring

Try and remember over half your listeners voted Leave - your most recent guest touting her book was boring. Republicans buy sneakers gents, don’t trash the podcast by being in your bubble now.

I Was 100% in a Global Index Fund Until I Realised This
Q: How did you calculate the target number for retirement?
The guest describes starting with the income needed to sustain the desired lifestyle, then testing withdrawal rates (including the 4% rule) and running Monte Carlo simulations to gauge how long the portfolio could last under variability, while also considering human capital and PensionCraft income as a buffer.
New Investors Should Hope for a Terrible Stock Market
Q: In the paper, what is the simplest way to explain the perfect contribution rate and perfect withdrawal rate to a general audience?
Contributing is the amount you put into your pension every year to reach a target, while withdrawal is how much you take out in retirement to last a lifetime; the study uses long historical data to estimate what those ideal rates would have been at different times.
We Had £40,000 of Debt and Nobody Knew
Q: What role did side income play in paying off the debt?
Side incomes from freelance work, TikTok creator rewards, and other gigs provided extra cash that they redirected to debt repayment, shortening the payoff period.
We Had £40,000 of Debt and Nobody Knew
Q: How did you structure the repayment, and what tools did you use?
They used a detailed Excel/Google Sheets budget to list every debt, track monthly income and expenses, and allocate a fixed monthly amount to debt, supplemented by cost-cutting and side income efforts.
We Had £40,000 of Debt and Nobody Knew
Q: What was the exact moment you decided enough was enough and you had to fix this?
The decision clicked during a May 2024 shopping trip when Megan realized the debt level could push them over the edge; they agreed to confront the situation together and start a structured payoff plan.
