This used to be my all time favorite podcast, but it was so disappointing in 2024. More than half the episodes had only 2 of the 3 hosts, there were so many movies they completely ignored, and the lack of energy in most episodes was painfully obvious. It feels like a shell of its former self.
The talking over one another gets annoying.
44 mins into a 90mins episode and they hadn’t spoken about the movie, I checked out.
If that’s your thing then ignore the 1 star rating.
Personally I like in depth discussion about the movie in the title of the episode and not a quick chat after a bunch of stealth trailers for other movies.
In searching for a movie podcast I found my way to Mad About Movies. This is exactly the type of movie podcast I was looking for. I’m currently 52 episodes on my way through an oldest to newest marathon, just finished 2013. Half of the entertainment is hearing all the movie news and their conjecture on where things are heading (e.g. wishing Sandler would do a more serious role, they have no idea Uncut Gems is coming). Hope to update this as I continue through.
