  • Harvard ignorance

No, university was not the obsession of the right and the left, it was the obsession of the left. They saw doctors and lawyers making money and they assumed university was the link. So they shut down trade schools and forced their kids to study gender, art and media; and then wondered why they still underperformed.

    Extraordinary these blokes have jobs.

Meanwhile, those who do study trades in this century are making millions.

  • Shameful softball interview with Lavorgna

Read the transcript of this interview — OMG — he thinks Trump is now is more knowledgeable! And the other insane statements. And you let the insanity just stand. Not worthy of you, as this is usually a good and thoughtful podcast.

  • Episode 234 Waste of time!!

I would not waste my time on this episode!! The guest is utterly politically biased, hindering his open-mindedness and critical thinking.

The guest holds a strong bias toward a political ideology. —The conversation is a complete echo chamber where his political bias leads him to misinterpretation or selective use of facts, contributing to polarization and misunderstanding in discussions.

Ep. 352: Richard Schimel on Platform Evolution, Collaborative Culture, and Navigating Market Risks
Q: What advice would you give to younger people entering the job market?
Gain diverse experiences through programs, try different roles to discover where your passion lies, follow a company and learn through their conference calls, and continuously learn from mentors and colleagues to stay in the game.
Ep. 352: Richard Schimel on Platform Evolution, Collaborative Culture, and Navigating Market Risks
Q: What do you see as the place of private markets in portfolios today?
Private markets have a role, especially in private equity and private credit, but they can show reversion after strong runs; allocations should be balanced with an eye toward liquidity, dispersion, and the ongoing shift between hedge funds and other alt strategies.
Ep. 352: Richard Schimel on Platform Evolution, Collaborative Culture, and Navigating Market Risks
Q: Where did you study and was finance always in your plan?
I studied economics at the University of Michigan, grew up around a stockbroker father, and gradually moved from bonds to the buy side, recognizing that macro views could enhance financials and equity analysis.
Ep. 349: Nader Itayim on Iran's Regional War, the Hormuz Choke Point, and Global Energy Disruption
Q: What are the main objectives of the three key actors (Israel, US, Iran) in this conflict?
The guest suggests that Israel aims for a degraded Iranian regime, possibly regime change, while the US appears to seek off-ramps or calibrated limits, and Iran seeks a decisive victory and the leverage to influence regional calculations, including energy and economic pressure.
Ep. 349: Nader Itayim on Iran's Regional War, the Hormuz Choke Point, and Global Energy Disruption
Q: So what's been the context or why is this escalation happening now?
The guest explains that the escalation is tied to a mix of long-standing regional tensions, the unresolved nuclear issue, and misaligned incentives among major actors. He notes that Iran-watchers saw the move as almost inevitable after the earlier round of conflicts, with strategic calculations by Israel and the US also playing a role.
