  • Long Covid Sucks

Have been suffering with Long Covid since 2020 and hearing recovery stories is a life saver. Having a diagnosis of “ well this is what it is but we don’t really know how it plays out, and this maybe the best you feel for the rest of your life” is depressing. I find Jackie & her guests inspiring and informative. Thank you Jackie for taking this topic on and not shying away from the negative parts of long term illness.

    I appreciate what you do.

Best pod for our Long Covid gang. Narrator is top notch. It has been 4 years for me and this podcast has been the most tangible. Now that I found it....it's been my savior for facts and inspiration.

  • Misinformation

Really a bummer to see they had Sarah Myhill on, she is an anti-vaxxer and anti-masker. Says a lot about the information they are okay putting out there to vulnerable people going through difficult and scary medical issues. I don’t trust their reporting

  • Great because…

Because the podcast covers all aspects of post viral illness. Including Long Covid and ME/CFS. Good guests too. I’d like more interviews with scientists and researchers who’ve been studying ME/CFS prior to the pandemic because they have already eliminated many of the hypotheses being suggested by researchers new to the field. Sadly it’s one of reasons $1.2 billion was wasted on old debunked ideas. Had some of that money gone to ME/CFS researchers they already have a list of potential existing me... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

218 - Learning to Listen: Neurodiversity, Trauma, and Long Covid Recovery
Q: How did you eventually reach a sense of lasting recovery or improvement?
The major shift came from completing a structured nervous-system recovery program where she learned to tolerate and manage activation (spreading technique, parasympathetic energy). This produced a deep sense of capability, with energy available for daily life, creativity, and work, and it culminated in adopting long-term habits like writing, freelance work, and a strong daily pillars framework (work, health, and home).
218 - Learning to Listen: Neurodiversity, Trauma, and Long Covid Recovery
Q: What did the recovery path look like, and what helped vs. what didn't help?
Ana describes a long, trial-and-error process with various programs. Key turning points included the Susie Bolt Rus Repair course, the Fern course, a dietitian's guidance to reduce fear around food, and especially a comprehensive nervous-system recovery program led by Jen Mann and Carden Rabin. Meditation, energy work, and visualization, along with practical supports like a supportive NHS therapist, gradually shifted her approach from rest-centered coping to active regulation and balanced living.
212 - Amy Davies - Internalised Pressure in Recovery: Letting Go Of Your Inner Drill Sergeant
Q: What practical steps can someone take to start reducing this pressure today?
Begin with small, doable actions and slow, compassionate awareness. Pause to notice where pressure comes from, breathe, and choose one simple task to try. Build trust that progress can be non-linear and that it's okay to start small and adjust as needed.
212 - Amy Davies - Internalised Pressure in Recovery: Letting Go Of Your Inner Drill Sergeant
Q: What do you mean by internalized pressure, and how does it affect recovery?
Internalized pressure is the pressure we place on ourselves to improve or recover, often driven by past patterns like perfectionism. It can keep the nervous system on high alert, making recovery slower because the body interprets self-imposed demands as threats.
207 - Dr Nathan Keiser - Stop Chasing Labels, Start Fixing Mechanisms
Q: What does chiropractic neurology mean?
Dr. Kaiser explains that chiropractic neurology combines clinical neurology with a focus on neuroplasticity, using strategies that stimulate the nervous system through native, multisensory inputs rather than relying solely on medications or surgical interventions.
