I love this podcast. It’s like listening to a friend talk to people much more interesting than themselves.Fortunately Hankinson is very aware of this and so encourages his guests to do all the talking whilst keeping his interjections to his areas of expertise. And the more podcasts Hankinson does the more he realises that as an excellent writer himself he does actually have something to offer the listener.
I just learned about this podcast when the host guested on Backlisted. I am loving the stimulating discourse and hope that more people will find it.
Insightful, considered engaging and a great exploration of how non-fiction writing works. more
I’ve been meaning to review this podcast for ages - it is such a treat, with Andrew Hankinson’s gentle, self-deprecating interrogations eliciting insights and anecdotes from the writers that we might not otherwise hear. An antidote to slick PR-led podcasts, and a prompt to widen my reading. Thank you, and please keep them coming.
Absolutely love this. Asks all the questions I would never think to ask, because I don’t have the inside knowledge that Andrew has, and such brilliant thoughtful answers. I’ve already learned so much, and the guests’ stories are all fascinating. Can’t say enough good things
