  • Appreciate locked-on but the hosts..

I don’t mean this as a shot against the hosts (brothers) but personally I don’t enjoy their commentary and constant negativity. I listen to a lot of locked on podcasts and this is easily one of the worst. This is reflected in the listener numbers, and engagement online. Should be replaced with new hosts.

  • Keeping me informed

I have been a Lakers fan since 1968. In 1989 I moved out of state. Found this show a little over a year ago. It’s a great show! Helps me follow and keeps informed about the Lakers. Have found the two host to be a fun listen. They have extensive knowledge of the game and the Lakers. Thank you for putting out a great show.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What Does the Ideal Lakers Offseason Look Like? Guest, Raj Chipalu!
Q: What did Raj Chipalu think was the most realistic pathway for upgrading the Lakers this offseason?
Raj emphasized prioritizing wing and center upgrades through cost-controlled options, exploring realistic multi-team trades, and leveraging draft assets to preserve cap flexibility while solidifying core positions.
Mitchell Robinson Linked to Lakers. Better Backup than Jaxson Hayes?
Q: If you could choose between those two guys, you'd put Mitchell Robinson on the floor before Jaxson Hayes. Yes, I'm into it. But if you needed someone to play 35 minutes for, 30 minutes a night for three weeks because somebody's hurt, would Robinson be your guy?
Robinson would not be the best fit for a prolonged heavy-minute role due to durability concerns; he's better used in shorter stints as a defender and rebounder, while Hayes or another backup might handle longer stretches when health requires it.
Mitchell Robinson Linked to Lakers. Better Backup than Jaxson Hayes?
Q: And I'll ask you, you think he's better than Jaxson Hayes? If so, how much better?
Robinson is viewed as significantly more valuable defensively as a rim protector and rebounder, but his higher cost and health risk limit his upside as a long-term starter; Hayes is cheaper and healthier, making him a more practical, lower-cost option, though Robinson would be the preferred floor-starter if health permits.
Are the Lakers Better off if Deandre Ayton Picks Up or Declines His Player Option?
Q: Are they actually better off if Ayton declines the option?
The hosts discuss that declining Ayton's option could free money for other centers who might offer better long-term value, but it also risks losing a solid contributor at a reasonable price; the debate centers on whether upgrading at center would deliver enough benefits to outweigh the cost, and how the Lakers could use any savings to improve other areas.
How Can the LA Pressure Oklahoma City? A Lakers-Thunder Preview
Q: What would you do if you were Lakers on this scouting report?
The plan centers on protecting the basketball, controlling the glass, and crowding the primary playmaker (Shea) while forcing others to beat you, leveraging LeBron's matchup and Lakers' transition opportunities.
