  • Hands Down, the Best Pod for KU Sports.

If you live for hot, controversial takes, this isn’t the pod for you. But if you want to listen to someone who balances his fandom with all the stats and all the data, Derek is your guy. Plus, he puts out LOADS of content. My first KU pod every single day.

  • Great Content, but…

This pod is helpful to preview upcoming Jayhawk games, with good presentation of stats to get an objective look at KU opponents and how the Jayhawks are likely to fare. But host talks way too fast, making this a tough listen at times. Locked On format is great and host is knowledgeable…just slow it down a notch.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Breaking Down Kansas Jayhawks Pitching & Hitting Ahead of Super Regional vs Oklahoma Sooners
Q: OK, so you mentioned some of the cutters thrown by Manning West. I'm curious if you had to put together a short list of some of the best individual pitches of the KU staff this year.
Dom Voegele is my number one, with an absolutely perfect delivery and a fastball mid to upper 90s, plus a strong slider; Boede Rahe also stands out with a strong mix and a devastating changeup, while Manning West's cutter and Rahe's presence as a bridge to the closer role have been crucial to the staff's success.
Who Will Lead Kansas Jayhawks in Scoring, Dunking, Rebounding and More - Will Tyran Stokes TAKEOVER?
Q: Who might be the second-leading scorer for Kansas?
Keanu Dawes and Leroy Blyden are the primary contenders, with Dawes showing scoring capability around the high-teens and Blyden providing shooting and scoring, depending on how lineup roles solidify.
Who Will Lead Kansas Jayhawks in Scoring, Dunking, Rebounding and More - Will Tyran Stokes TAKEOVER?
Q: Who is expected to lead Kansas in scoring this upcoming season?
Tyran Stokes is projected as the leading scorer, with a strong role in funneling the offense and multiple potential configurations for his usage as a wing and post player.
Roster RESET: Kansas Faces MAJOR Transition After Flory Bidunga's Portal Move - What Will Self Do?
Q: What if Kansas can land Tyron Stokes, the number one recruit in the class of 2026, and how would that affect the starting lineup?
Landing Stokes would potentially lock in Kinney at guard, add a high-caliber wing at the three, and push other spots like the four and center into a competition with portal additions; overall it would give KU multiple viable starting lineup configurations and reduce the immediate pressure to fill every position via the portal.
BENCH BLUES: Can Jayhawks FIX Themselves - Best & Worst Lineups + Kansas Football Film Reviews
Q: What does the current lineup data imply about how KU should structure its rotation moving forward?
The data suggests prioritizing the five starters given their solid net rating and improving bench reliability, and exploring one or two bench players who can consistently contribute when paired with the starters to stabilize performance.
